Council Bluffs Public Library |
This 68,000 sf prairie-style public library was constructed in 1997 and designed to be environmentally friendly with brick and stucco exterior. Because the new library is prominently located between the city’s central business district and a residential neighborhood the roofs are sloped and articulated with cross-dormers covered with standing seam metal. This project features artwork of materials consisting of stained glass windows, sculptured carpet, stained paneling, brick murals, and public plaza with fountain, sundial and shade trellises.
